What Is SkinPen Microneedling?

The tiny injuries that are made in your skin set off a series of events that are part of the skin’s natural healing process, which include inflammation, proliferation, and remodeling.
Inflammation
After your skin is punctured, your immune system is alerted, causing an increase in blood flow to the injured area as the immune cells rush to come clean out and repair the area. As more blood enters the injured area, it begins to swell up and become inflamed.
Proliferation
New skin cells begin to grow as the skin repairs itself and new collagen and elastin fibers form.
Remodeling
Gradually as these repairs take place, the layers of the skin are rebuilt (remodeled) with newer, stronger, more elastic tissue which makes the surface smoother, firmer, and clearer, lessening the appearance of cosmetic imperfections.
